Kindergartners Take a Holiday Journey Aboard the “Polar Express”

Before the holiday break, a beloved Malverne tradition continued at Maurice W. Downing as kindergarten students embarked on a magical journey aboard the Polar Express.
Principal Walter donned his conductor’s hat and welcomed students as they prepared for their imaginative trip. Each young traveler received a ticket, which was punched before entering the gym, setting the stage for the festive experience. Mr. Walter brought the classic holiday story to life through engaging storytelling, complete with music and sound effects that helped spark students’ imaginations.
Following the story, students “disembarked” from the train and returned to their classrooms, where they participated in holiday-themed crafts and activities, extending the excitement and joy of the day.
The annual Polar Express experience is a cherished Downing tradition that brings the holiday spirit to life while creating lasting memories for students.
